What exactly is a Stranger Trip?

A Stranger Trip is a fully organised, short weekend trip where every seat is booked by a separate individual — people who do not know each other before departure.

It is not a random bus. It is not a hostel booking. It is a structured trip with a fixed vehicle, a pre-confirmed hotel, included meals, and a Trip Captain who manages everything end-to-end.

The group is capped at 25. Everyone in it has been verified and confirmed individually. You will know the full list of inclusions before you pay a single rupee.

The idea came from one simple observation: most people in Kolkata want to travel on weekends, but rarely do — because coordinating with friends is harder than the trip itself. Stranger Trips removes that excuse.

You do not need a group. You do not need to plan anything. You book a seat, show up at the pickup point, and everything else is taken care of. Logistics, accommodation, meals, activities — handled.

What you bring is yourself. What you leave with — usually — is a contact list of people you actually enjoyed spending a weekend with.

Hotel Stay Included

One night at a pre-confirmed property. We visit (or verify) the hotel ourselves before every trip. You will not be moved to a different one.

4 Meals Every Trip

Dinner on Day 1, breakfast on Day 2, lunch on Day 2, and evening snacks on the return. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian both covered.

Every trip has a Rahigo Trip Captain — a person whose only job is to make sure everything runs on schedule and everyone is comfortable.

Check in & first meal

Hotel check-in is smooth because everything is pre-arranged. Freshen up, then meet for the first proper meal of the trip together.

Evening

Free time & activities

Depending on the destination — beach walks, local sightseeing, or just sitting together and talking. The Captain keeps things optional, never forced.

Night

Group session

The highlight for most people. A bonfire, rooftop, or open area. Deeper conversations. This is when the strangers become actual people to each other.

Is it actually safe to travel with strangers?

Yes — because we do not let actual strangers just walk in. Everyone goes through a verification step. You are travelling with 24 other people who have all been confirmed individually. The Trip Captain is present throughout.

How are people selected for a trip?

We prioritise a balanced group — mix of college students, young professionals, and solo travellers. We look at your registration details and keep the group intentional, not just first-come-first-served.

What if I am introverted or nervous?

Most of our travellers are. The ice-breakers are light, non-intrusive, and optional. Nobody will force you to speak. The group dynamic usually does the work on its own.

Can I book as a couple or with a friend?

Stranger Trips are designed for solo joiners. If you are coming with a friend, that is fine — but the experience works best when you arrive open to meeting new people.

What is the advance, and is it refundable?

₹500 advance is collected to confirm your seat. It is non-refundable once your spot is confirmed, as it covers logistics pre-committed in your name. The balance is paid on the trip day.

How many people go on each trip?

Hard cap of 25 per trip. This is not a number we stretch. A smaller group means a tighter experience and easier logistics.
